Info Post

The last 24 hours have been incredible. And affirming. And a little surreal... It's 11:30 p.m. January 31, 2012 (my Dad's birthday - Happy Birthday Dad!) and I am not going to let this day end without saying publicly how grateful I am for the many blessings we have received. So, here goes...

About this time last night, I received a Facebook message from Wesley Leytham of Rae Leytham Photography - "I gave you some love at raeleytham.net. It's my good deed for the year since its so hard for me to be nice {wink}." Wes was kidding of course.  He's nice all the time, but he's one of those people who doesn't, as the saying goes, "suffer fools gladly," so when I read his post I nearly burst into tears! As an industry, wedding filmmakers have an image problem. Rob and I have been trying to change that one couple and one vendor at a time for the last five years. Wes + Rae's post was a huge affirmation for us! We're getting there! Yay! Thank you Wesley and Rae for taking the time to write about us, and for assuring your brides that wedding films can (and should) be a work of art.

Then this morning, something which has been in the works for a little while came to fruition. We became an exclusive vendor with the uber talented Carillon Weddings team. We've always loved our Carillon couples, and this arrangement will help us, Victoria and Avis to serve them better.

January 31, 2012 was already a day to remember, and I really thought it couldn't get any better. But today, the phone kept ringing and the e-mails kept coming in - we added two more couples to our 2012 calendar and received inquires from five others! Honestly, I can't tell you the last time we had that many inquiries in one day. Somewhere in all that wonderful chaos we also completed a wedding film edit. It was truly surreal.

2011 was pretty wonderful both personally and professionally. However, today was an indication of how incredible 2012 is going to be and we really want to say how truly grateful we are. We are grateful for the people who have believed in us, grateful for the couples who have trusted us to film their big days, grateful for caterers who make sure we're fed, the coordinators who keep everything running like clockwork, the florists and the cake designers whose works of art give us even more beauty to film, the photographers who share their creativity when we're working together, the event filmmaking community we rely on. There's a little bit of all of you in the films we produce. We are truly grateful. We promise to continue to try and live a life which is worthy of the blessings we've received.
